Schedule Your Virtual Eye Care Appointment
In light of the growing concern around coronavirus, we’d like to share what we are doing to keep our patients healthy while still providing the best eyecare around. We are now offering an alternative to in office visits. You can schedule a virtual visit with Dr. Shields using the EyecareLive app. Not only can you schedule virtual visits, but also you can take vision tests, renew prescriptions and send secure messages whenever and wherever with our office. The app is HIPAA compliant and a secure way to communicate.

What does a virtual visit mean? You can save a trip into the office and have a video call with Dr. Shields via the EyecareLive App. The video call with Dr. Shields via EyecareLive will look a lot like a Facetime call.
Which appointments qualify for a virtual visit? Urgent needs like red eye, pink eye, red eyelid, stye, irritation, injury and other medical eye issues. Also remote monitoring, and follow-up care.
Which appointments are excluded from a virtual visit? Comprehensive eye exams, special in office testing.
*If you are unsure, just ask us! You can send messages to us via EyecareLive too.
When are appointments available? Through the EyecareLive app you will contact Dr. Shields. You may send a text through the app. The app also has the option for you to send pictures of your eye to better communicate your concern. Dr. Shields will then send you a message back using EyecareLive. He will coordinate a time for a virtual office visit depending on the health concern during his regular office hours.
